About the position

Narromine Shire Council is seeking a qualified and experienced person to join the organisation in the position of Executive Assistant Planning and Regulatory Services.

The position sits in the regulatory services area and is responsible to act as the primary point of contact for all customers seeking to do business with Council. The position will provide administrative support for Council’s Planning, Regulatory and Ranger Services. The position will also provide administrative assistance to the Director of Community and Economic Development when needed.

The position will also provide information, to issue and receive standards forms, take and action customer requests through Council’s Customer Request Management Program.

A 5 day/fortnight jobshare will be considered if the applications support this type of employment. 

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

Certificate III in Business Administration or Equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience of not less than 2 years in an administrative role
  • Basic knowledge and skills in statutory legislation relating to the Health Building and Planning areas
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively in a sensitive and confidential environment
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • WHS construction induction (White) card.

The details relating to this position are:

  • The position is graded 9 within Council's salary structure
  • The salary range is from $1102.88 to $1247.80 per 35 hour week plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment. 
  • Narromine Shire Council will pay a further 9.5% superannuation to your super fund
  • 35 hour working week applies. NSC has a Flexitime system whereby 2.5 hours per week is accrued to be taken at a time convenient to you and your Supervisor.
  • Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award
