About the position

Narromine Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Storeperson and Procurement Officer. 

The objective of this position is to provide procurement services and stores management to Council.

To provide the Departments with relevant support to enable efficient and effective management of orders, requisitions and purchasing while managing the stores at the Council Depot.

To provide a high standard in work practices to responsible officers whilst also delivering an efficient and effective service to employees across the organisation and Council suppliers.

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in stores operations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to respond to all customer enquiries, internal and external in a professional and patient manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a team with minimal; supervision, establish work priorities, meet deadlines and ensuring attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated sound level of MS Office Suite, and the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of corporate and other programs used by Council such as Authority and TRIM.
  • Commitment to uphold Council’s Code of Conduct, Workplace Health and Safety and Anti-discrimination policies.
  • Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence.
  • Construction Industry Induction “White” Card.
  • Forklift License or the ability to obtain.

 It will be desirable for you to have: 

  • Experience in Local Government and with the Civica Authority system.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current ChemCert Certificate
  • Forklift Licence

 The details relating to this position are:

  • The position is graded 11 within Council's salary structure
  • The salary range is from $74,836 to $84,670 per annum plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment. 
  • 38 hour working week applies. NSC has a RDO system whereby every second Monday is a rostered day off.
  • Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award

  • Any other additional screening that may be relevant to the role
